The short version
POE is an independently owned, free cycle journal. It has no account, email collection, ads, usage analytics, tracking, crash-reporting SDK, or developer health-data service. It makes no app-initiated network requests and does not collect or log IP addresses.
1. Who we are and what this covers
POE and poeperiod.com are operated by Dialect Agency Inc. DBA Super Simple (“we,” “us” or “our”). This notice covers the POE app, this website and correspondence you choose to send us. It supplies POE’s specific privacy terms where the general Super Simple policy describes other products or different practices.
2. Your journal
Your observations and preferences stay encrypted on this device. POE does not connect to Apple Health or automatically back up or sync your journal. Apple's standard symptom labels and severity choices are used only as the local catalog.
A device passcode must remain enabled. Removing it destroys the keys needed to open the journal. A new optional separate POE PIN has exactly five digits. Previously created four- or six-digit PINs continue to unlock existing journals. POE cannot recover a forgotten PIN, a lost journal, or erased keys.
3. Erasure
Erase journal is available in Settings and on the locked journal screen. It removes POE's journal keys, local records, temporary export files, and pending/delivered reminders. Separately, you may enable automatic erasure after 3 or 10 consecutive incorrect PIN submissions. This is off by default and requires acknowledging permanent loss. Enabling it, disabling it, or changing its limit requires your current PIN. An incorrect PIN during a settings change counts toward the current erasure policy. Someone else holding your phone could deliberately trigger erasure.
You may also set a separate five-digit kill switch PIN. Entering it on the locked journal screen erases the journal instead of unlocking it. It must differ from your unlock PIN, and setup requires your current unlock PIN.
The kill switch cannot erase screenshots, saved/shared exports, records previously written to Apple Health, prior backups, or copies held by recipients. An interrupted erase resumes before the journal opens. Logical key deletion is not a guarantee against every forensic attack or compromised device.
4. Reminders and physician exports
Cycle estimates use your recorded history and observations locally. LH tests, waking temperature and cervical mucus observations stay in your encrypted journal. Optional reminders and cycle notifications are scheduled on your device. Their text is neutral by default; detailed cycle previews are optional. Notifications can still reveal that POE is installed. There are no remote pushes or support inbox.
Physician PDF and CSV exports are generated locally only when requested. Their temporary files have iOS file protection and are removed when dismissed, when the app backgrounds, and on the next launch. Once you save or share them through the system share sheet, the destination controls its copy and may transmit it. The app explains this before export.
5. Earlier builds and platform limits
If you used an earlier POE build, you can explicitly move its local journal into encrypted storage. This does not erase existing Apple Health records, previous backups, or earlier support messages. The old support credentials are removed locally; the offline app cannot ask an old service to delete a remote record.
POE does not control independent iOS diagnostics, App Store activity, carrier networking, or services you choose when sharing. “Encrypted on your device” describes this offline app; it does not claim end-to-end synchronization or absolute protection on an unlocked or compromised device.
TestFlight automatically collects crash and usage information through Apple; POE itself has no analytics, crash-reporting SDK, or network service.
6. This website
No analytics. Not even crash tracking. The website includes no analytics tags, advertising pixels, crash-reporting service or fingerprinting code. We do not use IP addresses to track visitors. There is no cycle-log entry form, signup or email collection form. Our website code sets no cookies and stores no visitor identifier.
Hosting providers receive technical request information, including IP addresses, to deliver the website. Provider processing and logs are separate from our website code. We cannot promise that hosting infrastructure never processes or retains an IP address. This public website is hosted on Vercel and does not require sign-in.
7. Correspondence
The native app has no support inbox, anonymous authentication account or automatic diagnostic uploads. If you choose to email the contact address on this website, we receive your email address and what you send, and our email providers process that correspondence. Please do not send health records, reports or sensitive screenshots. We use correspondence to respond to your request.
8. Purposes, disclosures and retention
Website technical information is processed to deliver and secure the site, and support correspondence is used to respond to you. Where European or UK law applies, we rely on legitimate interests for proportionate security and support, contractual necessity where applicable, and legal obligations.
Providers may process website and support information for us, including hosting, security and email. We may disclose information we actually hold when lawfully required, to protect rights or safety, or in a business transfer subject to applicable protections. This does not give us access to your app health records. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We retain website and support information only as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, legal obligations and dispute resolution. Provider retention varies by service and configuration. App records stay encrypted on your device until deleted there; exports remain at the destination until you or the recipient deletes them.
9. Security and international processing
We use reasonable safeguards for information we handle, but cannot guarantee every device, account, transmission or recipient is secure. Website and support providers may process information in the United States and other countries; where required, appropriate transfer safeguards apply. Apple describes its own processing in its privacy notice.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection, withdraw consent, appeal a decision, or complain to your local privacy regulator. California residents may have rights concerning sale, sharing and certain uses of sensitive information; we do not sell or share information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You will not be penalized for exercising applicable rights. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted.
Contact privacy@supersimplecontacts.com and identify POE. We may need proportionate verification. Please do not send health history to verify a request. For app records we cannot access, use the journal erasure controls described above.
11. Children and changes
POE’s website and support services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information through a developer-operated service. Contact us if you believe a child has sent us personal information so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
We will update this notice as the product develops or practices change, revise the effective date, and provide additional notice or seek consent when required.
